Suzuki Airi: From Golf Course to Center Stage!

Suzuki Airi, the multi-talented idol, was born on April 12, 1994, in Gifu, Japan. Her parents were both avid golf players, but Airi had different plans for herself. Growing up in Chiba, she joined the prestigious Hello! Project in 2002 and quickly made a name for herself in the entertainment industry.

Airi’s first appearance on the big screen was in the film “Mini Moni Ja Movie: Okashi Na Daibooken!” in 2002. Her charming personality and captivating smile caught the attention of many, and soon she became a regular on Japanese TV.

In addition to her acting skills, Airi posed for and is published in a dozen photo books, she also displayed her artistic side by sketching a manga.

Airi rose to fame as a member of the idol group Hello! Project Kids before joining the units Aa!, C-ute, and Buono!. It was with C-ute that she achieved one of her greatest accomplishments, winning the Best New Artist Award at the Japan Record Award in 2008.

Airi wasn’t just a successful singer; she was also a talented actress. In 2008, she began her acting career on TV and in movies, and her first major role was as the central schoolgirl character in “Osama Gem.” Airi also branched out into modeling, becoming a sought-after face for Ray magazine. Fans couldn’t get enough of her stunning figure, gorgeous hair, and undeniable charisma.

But that was just the beginning for Airi. She proved herself to be a natural on the airwaves too, hosting her very own radio show, Airi’s Potion. As if that wasn’t enough, she also managed to study at the prestigious Keio University in Tokyo, graduating with a degree in environmental studies in 2017.

As her star continued to rise, Airi made a major announcement in 2018: she was releasing her debut solo album, Do Me a Favor. Fans were ecstatic, and the excitement only grew when she revealed plans for accompanying singles, music videos, and a tour.

Through all this, Airi never forgot her corporate responsibilities. She’s lent her image to plenty of products over the years, most notably as a spokesperson for Pizza-la. She’s also supported charitable causes, representing the Chiba Prefecture Red Cross, encouraging her fans to donate blood by offering a free poster of herself in 2018.

My first introduction to Suzuki!

Done in the style of a homemade video, the music video, ‘EASY TO SMILE” showed up suggestively in my YouTube feed. I had no idea who she was, at first the video looked almost homemade, I just knew it was a happy song At a time when things looked bleakest in my life!
The COVID pandemic caused new regulations of social distancing & mask-wearing, followed by weeklong and longer closures and eventually a layoff in my factory.

This video was a breath of fresh air, it was sweet and charming, but most of all, positive and hopeful!

My all time favorite! — 鈴木愛理『start again』

We all have that one favorite song, the one that rises above all the rest, the first song that we think of when we hear a singer or band’s name!
for me, this is Airi’s greatest hit!
